Hightower Celebrates Homecoming

Pastor Baker has ministered throughout the country and has obeyed the voice of the Lord by "Spreading the Word of God Through Faith" and "Winning the Lost at Any Cost."

Hightower Memorial Temple, located at 303 College Park Drive in Douglas, GA, will celebrate its 78th Church Anniversary in conjunction with their Annual Homecoming Celebration beginning Thursday, June 23 and continuing through Sunday, June 26, 2016. Services will begin at 7:30 PM Thursday and Friday, and 11 AM on Sunday.
It’s that time when all former and present members, acquaintances, and friends come home again to celebrate another awesome year of triumphs in the Kingdom. This year our speakers are Pastor Mark Baker of Greater Works Than These Ministry in Brunswick, Georgia, and Bishop Gus C. Ford of the House of God Saints in Christ of Atlanta, Georgia.
Pastor Mark Baker is the Founder and Pastor of Greater Works Than These Ministries. His anointed, powerful, and life-changing faith messages have encouraged many to have faith in God and to believe again. Pastor Baker's life and his messages are patterned after the men of God of great faith found in the book of Hebrews the Eleventh Chapter.
The Holy Spirit revealed the vision of the ministry to Pastor Baker and he established the ministry in the month of May of 1996. Pastor Baker's vision is a ministry where the vision is the people, and for the people, and not the people for the vision.
A ministry focused on the people while being Christ centered. A ministry not just focused on getting people to build the vision, but the vision is to build the people of God through His uncompromising word and having faith in His word.
Pastor Baker has ministered throughout the country and has obeyed the voice of the Lord by "Spreading the Word of God Through Faith" and "Winning the Lost at Any Cost." God has gifted Pastor Baker to minister prophetically in the areas of faith, holiness, and finances. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Word In Action Fellowship of Pastors, under the leadership of his Pastor and Bishop, Bishop Wiley Jackson, II, Senior Pastor and Founder of Gospel Tabernacle of Deliverance Center, Inc., in Atlanta, Griffin, and Stone Mountain, Georgia.
Pastor Baker, the son of James and Lumas Baker, resides in the beautiful City of Brunswick, Georgia with his lovely wife, First Lady Lora Baker and their children.
Bishop Gus Ford is the General Secretary - Treasurer of the House of God Saints in Christ, Inc. and a long-time member of this organization. He is the founder and Pastor of the House of God Saints in Christ of Atlanta. He formerly served as a bank examiner for the State of Georgia. He shares his expertise with the church and other organizations. He was married to the Late Doris Edwards Ford and they are the parents of 4 children.
Our theme this year is “Moving Forward in Love, Hope and Faith.” Even though the church has experienced some challenging times, it has continued to grow and flourish. Since the beginning with Bishop Nick Hightower Sr. continuing with Bishop J. L. Litman and Elder Frank Bussey, Sr., the Lord has done great things in this House… lives have been changed, shaped and transformed, bodies have been healed, miracles have been wrought. Come have a Pentecostal experience. Let’s give Glory to God for the experiences we have had here at Hightower formerly named New Bethel House of God Saints in Christ.                                                   Pastor Scott and the members of Hightower would like to invite everyone from all around to come celebrate with them as we continue to “Move Forward in Love, Hope and Faith”.
