ATCO Native Honored With Music Industry Award
Atkinson County native Dawn Birr was recently recognized by the Women’s International Music Network in the 2018 She Rocks Awards, which pays tribute to women in the music industry. Birr has been in the music industry since 2000 and is currently the Channel Manager for the Americas, Sennheiser Business Solutions.
Dawn Rigdon Birr began her career in the audio industry in 2000, joining Sennheiser fresh out of college. She started as a temporary receptionist and began to learn her way around and through the company. Dawn was promoted over the years to Neumann Product Manager, Professional RF Product Manager, VP of Sales for U.S. Installed Sound, Global Commercial Manager for Audio Recording, and most recently as Channel Manager for the Americas for Sennheiser Business Solutions. She is a proud Advisory Board Member for the Women’s International Music Network and member of Soundgirls.org.
Dawn is the daughter of Kellie Ruth (Mancil) Lockwood and the late James H. Rigdon and the granddaughter of the late Kelly and Azelene Smith Mancil.
She graduated from Citizens Christian Academy in 1993 and also attended school in Atkinson County. She received her BA from State University of West Georgia and received her MBA from the University of New Haven in Connecticut, where she resides with her husband, Darren.
