Chamber’s ‘Think Pink’ Event Set For Thursday, Doherty To Serve As Speaker

The Douglas-Coffee County Chamber of Commerce’s annual Women In Business: Think Pink event is set for this Thursday, October 12, and Indian Creek Elementary School’s April Doherty will serve as the keynote speaker. The event will be held at the Central Square Complex in downtown Douglas.
Tickets for the “Think Pink” event are still on sale and costs $30 for Chamber members and $40 for non-Chamber members. Reserved tables for 10 cost $300 for Chamber Members, reserved tables for eight are $250 for Chamber members, and reserved tables for six are $200 for Chamber members. Non-Chamber members rates are $300 for a table for eight, and $250 for a table for six.
This year’s “Think Pink” theme is – “Promoting a Healthy & Productive Workplace.”
Chamber President Andrea Taylor commented on April Doherty serving as the keynote speaker and she stated, “If you know April, you know she is the sweetest soul! On February 25, 2016, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. However, cancer does not define her!”
April is married to Pat Doherty who works with the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office. They just celebrated 16 years of marriage and have two beautiful kids, Keely, 11, and Finn, 10. She is working on her 19th year of teaching.
April was saved at an early age and loves serving her savior Jesus Christ. She attends church at Grace Pointe where she is involved with different ministries.
