Construction Begins On New Coffee High School Performing Arts Center

Construction has begun on the new, multi-million dollar Performing Arts Center at Coffee High School, an ESPLOST funded project that will cost more than $10.5 million.
The Performing Arts Center has been in the works for several years and the new building will be a state-of-the-art facility that will rank among the best in the state.
The Coffee County Board of Education’s discussion on constructing the Performing Arts Center began in early 2013. Later, in August of 2013, the Coffee County Board of Education approved a resolution placing a 1% Educational Sales Tax on the ballot in the November 5, 2013 Election, which included the construction of the Performing Arts Center on the campus of Coffee High School.
Coffee County voters overwhelmingly supported and passed the ESPLOST in November of 2013.
The BOE approved the low bid for the construction of the Performing Arts Center earlier this year, awarding the project to Jones Construction Company in the amount of $10,580,000.
