Douglas Man’s Burglary Foiled By Woman’s Medical Alert Alarm

A Douglas man who broke into an Alma woman’s home earlier this week had his plans foiled after the woman pressed her medical alert alarm around her neck, secretly notify authorities to her home. 
Twenty-four year old Sharod Fussell of Douglas is alleged to have broken into a woman’s home located at 512 East 16th Street in Alma on Monday, June 20, and attempted to “force” the woman into her bedroom.  The woman pressed her medical alert alarm around her neck, and emergency personnel responded to the scene. 
When officials arrived, Fussell was spotted in the front yard of the residence and arrested at the scene after being positively identified by the victim. 
He has been charged with Burglary.
