General Coffee State Park Promoting Two Upcoming Family Events
Enterprise Staff Writer
General Coffee State Park officials have worked tirelessly to clean up the park after Hurricane Irma tore through Douglas and Coffee County earlier this month, as the park prepares to host two upcoming family events, one of which is this weekend.
General Coffee State Park will host the Douglas-Coffee County Humane Society’s first annual Fast and the Furriest Fun Run Walk this weekend on Saturday, September 30, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on what is Georgia State Park Day. Water and refreshments will be provided.
The event is a fundraiser for the local humane society to raise money for their foster program.
To register early, visit the Douglas-Coffee County Humane Society’s Facebook page.
Planning is also currently underway for General Coffee State Park’s annual Moonlight Madness, which will be held on Saturday, October 21, from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.
This years event will feature a new updated kids carnival, kids maze, hayrides, and of course the popular haunted house.
State park officials are looking for volunteers to help out in all areas of this event.
If interested you can contact Jackie Clay at the park or through the park’s Facebook page or the Friends of General Coffee State Park.
Additional information can be found on the state park’s website and will be posted on Facebook as the event approaches.
