Kids Enjoy Summer At Junior Ranger Camp

The campers got to participate in several daily outdoor activities including arts and craft projects, short nature hikes, lessons and activities on the effects of sun and plants, an “excavation” of a mock archaeology site, canoeing lessons, fishing, and archery lessons.
The campers at General Coffee State Park’s Junior Ranger Camp participated in their last day of camp fun on Thursday, June 23, 2016. 
The campers got to participate in several daily outdoor activities including arts and craft projects, short nature hikes, lessons and activities on the effects of sun and plants, an “excavation” of a mock archaeology site, canoeing lessons, fishing, and archery lessons.
Badges were also given out to the campers based on the amount of activities they completed and their respective ages or number of years in camp.
On their last day of camp, the children got to participate in several water games and observed nature by walking around the pollinator garden and drawing what they saw.
The Junior Ranger Camp takes place each summer and was held on June 20, 2016, through June  23, 2016, this year.
The park is hosting a movie under the stars event featuring the movie Over the Hedge on June 25, 2016. A $5.00 parking pass will need to be purchased per vehicle and the park asks that attendees bring no outside food or drinks.
