May Is Chamber Appreciation Month!
The Douglas-Coffee County Chamber of Commerce is celebrating its Chamber members in May, which has been declared Chamber Member Appreciation Month.
Green bows seen on the doors of businesses around Douglas-Coffee County designate the business as a Chamber member. Chamber staff and members of the Chamber Board of Directors are busy delivering bows this week.
“Our Chamber started off 2017 with 499 members and we currently have 675, which is an almost 35% increase in membership,” states Andrea Taylor, President of the Chamber.
“The more members we have, the more power we have when it comes time to lobby on behalf of local businesses.”
In addition to delivering bows, the Chamber is also launching a new campaign that encourages shoppers to shop Douglas-Coffee County with the slogan, ‘Put your money where your heart is. Shop Douglas-Coffee County.’” Stickers with the new campaign slogan are also being delivered this week.
“One of our Chamber Board’s goals this year was to show more appreciation to our members,” shares Stanley Lott, 2016-17 Chairman.
“We want our members to be more engaged in what the Chamber does and to understand why it’s important to be a Chamber member.”
If for some reason you are a Chamber member and you don’t receive these items, please contact the Chamber of Commerce at 912.384.1873 or stop by the Chamber office located at 114 North Peterson Avenue in downtown Douglas.
