Spotlight On Chamber Board Member Jennifer Morrell, Owner Of PostNet

Jennifer Morrell is the owner of PostNet in Douglas, a chain retailer focused on business services such as printing, copying, shipping and online marketing. Jennifer is a Coffee County native who loves her hometown and enjoys serving on the Board of Directors for the Douglas-Coffee County Chamber of Commerce.
Jennifer is married to Ron Morrell who works with Live Oak Homes in Broxton. Ron has been with Live Oak as Quality Control Manager since 2007. Live Oak has grown from one plant in Waycross to now three plants, the third one opened recently in Willacoochee.
Together Ron and Jennifer have two children, Abbie and Ruby. Abby is a tenth-grade honor student at Coffee High School who has been a gymnast for ten years with Southern Gold Gymnastics competition team Gold. Ruby is a seventh-grade honor student at Coffee Middle School who has played Soccer with Douglas Parks & Recreation for seven years and she plays on the CMS Lady Trojans Soccer Team.
Jennifer graduated from South Georgia State College in 1994 and Valdosta State University in 1998 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management Administration. She then moved back to Douglas, got married and purchased PostNet in 1999. She is celebrating 18 years with the company in 2017.
Jennifer says she always saw herself owing her own business. “Even though I started Nursing school at VSU, now when I look back, I think all I ever really saw myself doing was owning my own business.  I like being my own boss and having the flexibility that it allows me. It also comes with a lot of responsibility and if you have ever been in PostNet on a typical day you know it is always hopping busy and never a dull moment.  I really do enjoy my job!”
In her spare time, Jennifer loves to read and describes herself as a homebody. “Napping is one of my favorite hobbies and I am great at it!  I don’t really like to travel but I always have fun when I get there.  My favorite place to travel to is anywhere cool, the mountains are nice and I would love to visit Alaska one day.”
Jennifer also loves her hometown. “I lived in Valdosta for almost five years and it was great but I missed home.  Most of my family is here and actually most of my family lives within about ten miles of my house in West Green.  My husband’s family is from Pelham, Georgia, and we decided when we got married that we wanted to be closer to either his family or mine so we came back here.  I love that Douglas still feels like a small town but that we are also growing and lots of new things are happening in Douglas!”
Jennifer enjoys serving on the Chamber Board of Directors. “The Chamber is one of the few business networking groups we have in Douglas-Coffee County and our Chamber is the best!  Andrea and her staff do a great job of helping businesses in any way they can. They truly have Douglas and Coffee County’s best interest at heart and have done great things in the past few years.  The Chamber has grown tremendously this year and I am proud to be part of such a great organization that helps our community thrive!’
