Doris Marie Hutchinson, 86
Doris Marie Hutchinson, age 86, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2019, at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Hutchinson was born on February 3, 1933, in Greenville, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Heber Jesse Hudson, Sr., and Sadie Marie Potter Hudson.
Mrs. Hutchinson was a homemaker, a very loving mother, and an active member of First Baptist Church, Douglas, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, James Albert Hudson, Heber Jesse Hudson, Jr., William Earl Hudson, and Harvey A. Hudson.
Survivors include: her husband of 67 years, Glyn A. Hutchinson of Douglas, GA; two daughters, Bren Goodale of Douglas, GA, and Pam Bennett and husband Greg of Fernandina Beach, FL; three grandchildren, Lacy Marie Clements of Douglas, GA, Quinn C. Bennett of Atlanta, GA, and Tracy Brianne Goodale of Atlanta, GA; one great-grandchild, Hudson Glyn Clements of Douglas, GA; brother, John N. Hudson of Fayetteville, NC; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 12, 2019, at First Baptist Church, with Rev. Dr. Don Hattaway and Rev. Shep Johnson officiating. Interment services were Monday, May 13, 2019, at 2:30 p.m. at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32218. The family received friends Saturday evening from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Carlos Lankford, Joel Parrish, Marvin Rains, Ricky Benton, J.L. McClelland, Clay Lott and Gene Grant. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Chapel Sunday School Class. Musical selections were “Remember Me” sung by Terri Bailey and Pam Bennett and “In the Garden” sung by Terri Bailey.
