Mr. James Travis McKinnon, Jr., 46
Mr. James Travis McKinnon, Jr., age 46 of Broxton, GA, passed away early Monday morning, March 4, 2019, at Gonzales Memorial Hospital in Gonzales, Texas, following a short illness. Mr. McKinnon was born June 4, 1972, to Floy Patricia “Pat” Brown and the late James Travis McKinnon, Sr.
Mr. McKinnon, a native of Coffee County, was a self-employed truck driver and escort driver. He was a member of Covenant Christian Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Marguerite Ricketson McKinnon of Broxton, GA; four children, Hilaree Dale of Broxton, GA, Gabriel Dale and wife Cody of West Green, GA, and Taylor McKinnon and Destiny Hollinger, both of Broxton, GA; mother, Floy Patricia “Pat” Brown of Juanita, FL; two sisters, Tracy McKinnon of Juanita, FL, and Tessie McKinnon of Haynes, NC; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
The funeral service was held Saturday, March 9, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Covenant Christian Church, with Rev. Gregory and Jackie Pope officiating. The interment followed in Reedy Branch Cemetery near Broxton.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Douglas National Bank or Ricketson Funeral Home to help with the funeral expenses for James Travis McKinnon, Jr.
Active pallbearers were Jamie Frances, Greg Penn, Tony Crews, Randy Sprinkle, Chad Proudfoot, Roy Swann, Sammy Youngblood ,and Cody Davis.
Special musical selections included “Good Good Father,” “It Is Well,” and “Worshiping You” all presented by the Worship Team Singers of Covenant Christian Church, with Jessica Rowe as the musician.
