Mrs. Louree Ward, age 80, of Broxton, GA, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2016, at Bacon County Hospital following an extended illness.
Mrs. Ward was born on November 1, 1935, in Douglas, GA, to the late James Vinson Yarberry and Lou Alice Graves Yarberry. She was preceded in death by a brother Rexford Yarberry.
Survivors include her two daughters, Lisa Ward (Alfred) Kaussen of Douglas, GA, and Barbara Ward (Buddy) Stevens of West Green, GA; son, Ray (Linda) Ward of West Green, GA; three sisters, Carolyn (Dodbie) Bennett of Douglas, GA, Dorothy Williams of Douglas, GA, and Jeanette (Billy) Sapp of Douglas, GA; brother, Ralph (Lydia) Yarberry of Douglas, GA; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, July 31, 2016, at 4:00 p.m., at Bethany Holiness Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Harper and Rev. Nina Peterson officiating. Music was furnished for the service by cd “Wish You Were Here,” “Prettiest Flowers,” “Stroll Over Heaven,” and “Holes In The Floor Of Heaven,” with Lois Mills playing the piano.
Active pallbearers were Corey Yarberry, Aaron Tanner, Josh Tanner, Jamie Yarberry, Trey Lott, Brian Lott, Kenny Hersey and Mark Burkett.
Interment followed at Bethany Holiness Baptist Church Cemetery.
Sims Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
