Mrs. Norma Jean Miller Pridgen, 75
Mrs. Norma Jean Miller Pridgen, age 75, of Broxton, in the Pridgen Community, passed away early Friday morning, April 20, 2018, at her residence following an extended illness.
A native of Coffee County, Mrs. Pridgen was born April 23, 1942, to the late Walt Miller and the late Betty Harper Miller Beecher. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her Step-Father, Carlos Edison Beecher.
Mrs. Pridgen was a member of God’s People Baptist Church.
Survivors include: her husband: John M. “J. M.” Pridgen of the Pridgen Community, three children: Marshall Pridgen and his wife Cindy, Jeffrey Pridgen and his wife Kathy and Derek Pridgen and his wife Janet all of the Pridgen Community, eight grandchildren, John Pridgen, Austin Pridgen, Kensley Pridgen, Walt Pridgen, Chas Pridgen, Laura Ashlyn Pridgen, Emily Pridgen and Stephen Pridgen, one sister, Margie Harrison and her husband Walt of Woodland Hills, CA, one brother, Emory Miller and his wife Ann of Fitzgerald, GA, several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends
The funeral service were held Sunday, April 22, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Douglas with Rev. Milan Turner and Dr. Shep Johnson officiating.
The interment followed in Pridgen Cemetery in the Pridgen Community.
Active pallbearers were: John Pridgen, Walt Pridgen, Austin Pridgen, Chas Pridgen, Stephen Pridgen, Duaine Miller, Donald Miller, Charles Miller and Michael Gowan.
Special musical selections, “In The Garden” and “It Is Well With My Soul” were presented by the soloist,
Gaylon Collins, with Marsha Gilliard, at the piano. Prelude and postlude soft hymns were rendered by the pianist, Marsha Gilliard.
