Mrs. Sandra Kay Cothern Chybicki, age 57, of Denton, Ga., passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2016, at Coffee Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Chybicki was born on October 1, 1958, in Douglas, Ga., to Laverne Merritt Cothern and the late L. G. Cothern.
She was preceded in death by her father, L. G. Cothern; son, Gary Edward Powell; and special nephew, Jonathan Monroe Dykes.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Chybicki of Denton, Ga.; daughter, Sandy (Brian) Hunter of Baxley, Ga.; son, Andy (Cassandra) Powell of West Green, Ga.; mother, Laverne Cothern of Denton, Ga.; brother, Charlie (Norma) Adams of Warner Robins, Ga.; sister, Debbie Cothern of Denton, Ga.; six grandchildren, Nathan Powell, Cassidy Powell, Gage Powell, Dustin (Lacy) Hunter, Cody (Amber) Hunter, and Karlie Atkinson; two great grandchildren, Hayden Hunter and Hudson Hunter; several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., at Macedonia Church of God with Rev. Marshall Adcock, Rev. Phillip Cook, and Evangelist Van McCall officiating. Music was furnished for the service by Derrell Wright “Go Rest High On That Mountain,” Becky Davis “Dancing In The Sky,” and Jeff Hullender and Emily Padgett “Celebrate Me Home,” with Angie McCall playing the piano.
Active pallbearers were B.J. Kight, Jason Chauncey, Shane Metts, Kole Metts, Dustin Hunter, and Dusty Nipper. Honorary pallbearers were employees of Georgia Baptist Children Hospital, Coffee Regional Medical Center ICU Nurses; and all family and friends in attendance.
Interment followed at Denton City Cemetery.
Sims Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
