CCA Softball Off To 0-4 Start To Season

The Citizens Christian Academy Lady Patriot softball team dropped their first four games of the 2017 season, losing twice to both Robert Toombs Christian Academy and Westfield School.
CCA lost their opener to RTCA by a final of 13-3 last week. Autumn Patton and Sydney Rish both had doubles and scored a run each for the Lady Patriots, while Emma Rish, Jesse Tanner, and Kate Day all had singles. S. Rish drove in two runs, and Day added one RBI.
Erynn Hunkapillar, E. Rish and Hannah Dunn all saw action on the mound in the loss.
CCA dropped two close games to Westfield School by finals of 2-0 and 2-1. In the 2-0 loss, CCA managed just two hits, those coming from Dunn (a double) and Patton.
Dunn got the start and pitched well despite taking the loss, as she allowed just two unearned runs on four hits with two walks and one strikeout.
In the 2-1 loss to Westfield, CCA again had just two hits, those coming from Dunn and Tanner. Tanner’s double drove in CCA’s lone run, which was scored by S. Rish.
Bailey Bryant took the loss despite allowing just one hit.
This past Saturday, RTCA defeated CCA 3-1, and the offense continued to struggle, collecting just three hits. Tanner singled and scored a run, and Rish and Patton both had a singled each.
CCA played Deerfield-Windsor in Albany on Monday. They host Valwood on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
