Coffee Sweeps Region 1-AAAAAA Swim Meet

Coffee High School did it again, sweeping the Region 1-AAAAAA Swim Meet held at SGSC on Thursday, January, 17th. CHS racked up 123 points in the taking first place in the girls team score placing ahead of second place girls team from Lee County with 61 points. The Coffee boys were even more dominant, scoring 141 points to outscore second place team from Northside with 34 points. In combine scoring, it was again Coffee with 264 points to place ahead of Lee County with 84 points.

Top scored placing first from Coffee included: Men 200 Medley Relay (William Vickers, Emory Moorman, Logan Schultz, and Lucas McCarty), Women 200 Medley Relay (Nallee Mobley, Taylor Justice, Meghan Hill, Madeline Booth), Men 200 IM (Lucas McCarty), Women 200 IM (Meghan Hill), Men 50 Free (Emory Moorman), Women 50 Free (Taylor Justice), Men 100 Fly (Deuce Ferris), Men 100 Free (Collier Guess), Women 100 Free (Taylor Justice), Men 500 Free (Brock Vickers), Women 500 Free (Ashley Goldberg), Men 200 Free Relay (William Vickers, Logan Schultz, Lucas McCarty, and Emory Moorman), Women 200 Free Relay (Taylor Justice, Meghan Hill, Madeline Booth, and Loren O’Steen), Men 100 Back (William Vickers), Women 100 Back (Nallee Mobley), Men 100 Breast (Emory Moorman), Women 100 Breast (Josie McCarty), Men 400 Free Relay (Collier Guess, John Nguyhen, Deuce Ferris, Brock Vickers), Women 400 Free Relay (Loren O’Steen, Nallee Mobley, Josie McCarty, Haleigh Lee).

Second place finishers included: Men 200 Free (Deuce Ferris), Men 50 Free (William Vickers), Men 100 Fly (Logan Schultz), Women 100 Fly (Haleigh Lee), Men 100 Free (Collier Guess), Women 100 Free (Nallee Mobley), Men 100 Back (Logan Schultz), Women 100 Back (Caroline Wilson), Men 100 Breast (Lucas McCarty), and Women 50 Free (Loren O’Steen).

Third place medalists included: Men 200 Free (Logan Vickers), Men 200 IM (Benjamin Gowen), Women 200 IM (Josie McCarty), Men 50 Free (Collier Guess), Women 50 Free (Haleigh Lee), Women 100 Fly (Loren O’Steen), Men 500 Free (John Nguyen), and Men 100 Back (Brock Vickers).

Coach Joiner and Coach Sims noted, “We are very proud of their Coffee swimmers and the way they performed at the Region Swim Meet, as well as the excellent sportsmanship the CHS swimmers displayed during the meet. Boys have won for eight years and girls for four years and runner up for another year. The total team wins include 12 years for both boys and girls, with girls also picking up a runner up trophy for a separate year.”
