History Made: Coffee Girls Soccer Qualifies for First Time During Regular Season For State Playoffs

Coffee Girls traveled to Valdosta on Thursday, March 28tth for the last region game of the season and a chance at an automatic playoff birth. The Lady Trojans dominated the first half possessing the ball and sending several hard shots on goal. However, at the end of the first half the score was 0-0. With the resumption of the second half, Coffee would again come out strong, and Sophomore Emily Winters would find the back of the net to give the Lady Trojans a slim 1-0 lead. The lead would be short-lived, with Valdosta upping the pressure and throwing more players in the offensive end. Valdosta would tie the game at 1-1 with 10 minutes remaining. Both teams would have several more opportunities to win the game but failed to find the back of the net. At the end of regulation, the score was 1-1.
