Walker To Serve Second Year As Post 515 Commander

Installation And Member Appreciation Ceremony Saturday
American Legion Post 515 Commander Alfalene (Al) Walker will serve her second year as the Post’s Commander. The post will hold a New Officer Installation and Membership Appreciation ceremony this upcoming Saturday to swear in Commander Walker and other officer’s. Past Department of Georgia Commander Charlie Tucker will serve as the Installation Officer during the ceremony.
Commander Walker became the first female Commander of American Legion Post 515 during an installation ceremony last July.
Commander Alfalene Walker states, “This year has been a good year for Post 515 and I am excited about serving a second year as Commander of one of the most active American Legion Post’s in the state of Georgia. The American Legion purpose remains the focus of Post 515: service to Veterans, their families, and the community.”
City and County officials, Coffee County School officials, Post program and award recipients, business leaders, and leaders from other American Legion Posts are all invited to attend the ceremony.
The Post would also like to send a special invitation to those that contributed to the 2016 Wreaths Across American Program.
Anyone who would like to attend may bring a guest and the dress attire is casual. A free meal will be served and an “old school dance” will take place after the installation of the new officers.
